Future readiness entails developing critical skills to navigate the complexities of a competitive world. Traditional, compartmentalized subject studies in schools are inadequate. An integrated approach that encompasses staying informed about current events, keeping pace with industry trends, and acquiring life skills early on profoundly influences future career trajectories. Building a robust foundation in lifelong learning practices provides a decisive advantage. Those in the age group of 12 to 18 years find it more relevant to face the world after completing their college or university studies.

Hybrid Model of Engagement

Igniting The Young Minds

"Learning by experiencing it" is exemplified through a gardening activity. Participants in a small cohort embark on a guided journey to grow Navadhanya food grains. This hands-on experience integrates mathematical concepts like measurements, physics of shapes, sizes, and colors, chemistry of soil, seeds, leaves, and flowers or fruits, and biological transformations of plants. Real-world activities reveal the wonders of nature. As a "student farmer," each participant encounters the challenges of growing food, solves problems, and achieves self-set objectives. A series of bite-sized learning modules delivered via mobile phone support the learning process.
The entire program spans approximately 30 weeks of consistent, directed effort to achieve these goals.
The students of class 8 and 9 from Chandana School, Sirsi participated in the program during 2021-22

A timeline between August 15, 2021 to Jan 14, 2022 was scheduled for a batch of 150 students of the rural school, class 8 and 9. All of them were given a wood container - ArecaPot with a challenge to grow the plant from  a seed to the harvest cycle. They did it at home, but monitored by the school coordinator for the day to day activities and progress. Like a farmer's experience, some seeds did not germinate at all, few plants died in their early stage, other few were infected by the pests and of course all sorts of challenges during these 21 weeks. The full filled experiential learning was navigated by the bite-sized contents delivered on their mobile in a dedicated and exclusive WhatsApp group.

Finally, the outcome was amazing indeed!!

In this Digital Era, students have many distractions in their life. While Digital tools and Mobile Devices are important to acquire knowledge and skills, the real-world activities like gardening and sports add much more values in their growth.
